59 Chinese Apps Banned in India Including Tik Tok And Other Popular Apps

It was recently on Monday, 29th June 2020 that in a press release, it was disclosed that the Government of India is going to ban 59 Chinese Apps including top social media platforms such as TikTok, Helo and WeChat. It also included other popularly used mobile apps such as ShareIt, Xender, UC Browser, CamScanner and a lot more. 

This action was taken by the Government of India in order to counter the threat posed by these Chinese applications to the country's ''sovereignty and security'' it said in the press release. The Government mentioned in the press release that these applications are engaged in activities "prejudicial to sovereignty and integrity of India, defense of India, security of state and public order."
